NRM CONGRATULATES NIGERIA AT 60: SAYS THERE IS LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL
The National Chairman, National Rescue Movement (NRM), Distinguished Senator Mohammed Saidu Dansadau and the leadership of the Party congratulate Nigeria and Nigerians on the occasion of the 60th Independence Anniversary celebration. According to the Party, despite the several challenges facing the nation, there is still hope and light at the end of the tunnel.
According to a Press Statement signed by the National Publicity Secretary of the Party, Prince Chinedu Obi, and made available to the public stated that, "at 60, Nigeria still struggles with the provision of basic social infrastructure for the citizenry, such as good roads, regular power supply, pipe borne water, quality healthcare, etc. In recent times, insecurity ranging from banditry, kidnapping, insurgency, terrorism, armed robbery to abject poverty, hunger, unemployment, corruption, nepotism, etc., have been our ugly national experience. Lack of patriotism, poor governance and unethical leadership recruitment process have also been a great challenge. Meanwhile, Nigeria possesses untapped abundant and vast natural and human resources capable of making it one of the greatest countries in the world."
"In all these maladies facing our great nation, the National Rescue Movement believes that all hope is not lost. Nigeria will through concerted efforts by all Nigerians rediscover itself and become the giant of Africa, which God has desired for it. The NRM urges Nigerians to demand accountability and transparency from its leaders, while remaining peace loving and patriotic."
"The NRM calls on political leaders at all levels to govern with the fear of God and compassion for the masses. The 60th Independence Anniversary celebration should also be an opportunity for sober reflection for political leaders as they rededicate themselves to the service of the people."
